My name is Dr. Minkailu Sesay, an Atlanta-based family physician, born in Eastern Sierra Leone. I obtained medical training in Russia and the United States. It has always been my passion to serve communities in need. Growing up in a country with limited resources for learning and where healthcare was a privilege, not a right, was challenging for me. My parents believed in hard work, integrity, and humility. These values shaped me into the person I am today. During my elementary school years, I made a commitment to return to and serve the community I grew up in by providing much-needed medical care. Growing up in Sierra Leone and working as a volunteer in Haiti and Nicaragua only further cemented my commitment to this goal. My decision to form a nonprofit organization followed from this long-term goal to serve those who have endured much hardship.

I founded Angel International Mission Inc (AIM) in February 2019, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to serve communities in developing countries by working together with community leaders to provide medical care and establish a solid educational structure providing school children with materials needed to develop fundamental, age-appropriate skills, including basic school supplies and textbooks.

Since its establishment, AIM has been collaborating with other organizations that share similar visions of helping improve the livelihood of our communities through healthcare and educational support. Our first medical mission took place in Eastern Sierra Leone at an elementary school. We distributed school supplies to over 600 students and provided free medical care to about 250 residents in the town of Yengema in April 2019. And our next outreach is scheduled for April 13-18, 2020.

OUR VISION

To accomplish AIM’s goals, we envision AIM will be involved in:

1. Collaboration with local health centers and other nonprofit organizations in the region to improve the health of communities.
2. Empowering residents to be involved in their own community health.
3. Educating and training local health care providers.
4. Supporting local schools by providing educational resources.
5. Establishing local health centers to provide direct patient care to residents of communities.

OUR CORE VALUES

AIM holds cherished core values that help it improve the livelihood of the communities it serves.

1. Compassion: We demonstrate compassion and caring for the people we serve.
2. Respect for Humanity: We value people and treat them with respect and dignity as we serve them.
3. Integrity: We demonstrate honesty and highest ethical standards in all of our actions.
